"Best Trade" Newsletter (October 11, 2007) - Open Trade
10/11/2007

For this “Best trade”, "Buy Puts" trade  is opened
in order to close them later with profit if the index moves in our favor.

Below you will find a Table of Trade Motivations and a chart showing the trades, including detailed trade calculations.

Chart 1: NASDAQ 100 60-day SBV(20)

In Table 1 - a ''Table of Trade Motivators'' - we show the motivating factors that led us to take the above trades.

Motivation
09/18/2007 High-magnitude selling volume surges were noted in all market sectors. The volume on the NASDAQ 100 exceeded the average daily volume over the last 10 session by 17%. On the S&P 500, volume was 24% higher than the average daily volume seen over the last 10 session. On the Dow, volume was 23% higher.
09/19/2007 High-magnitude selling volume surges were noted in all market sectors. The volume on the NASDAQ 100 exceeded the average daily volume over the last 10 session by 21%. On the S&P 500, volume was 25% higher than the average daily volume seen over the last 10 session. On the Dow, volume was 26% higher.
09/21/2007 High-magnitude selling volume surges were noted in NASDAQ 100 sector. The volume on the NASDAQ 100 exceeded the average daily volume over the last 10 session by 42%.
09/10/2007 Buy PutsThe SBV oscillator declined to plus 20% (after having been above that level) based on the NASDAQ 100 60-day SBV(20) chart.

Considering the fact that current 60-days SBV(20) readings on the NASDAQ 100, S&P 500 and Dow are moving down, we could consider the potential down-move.

09/28/2007 Buy PutsThe SBV oscillator declined to plus 20% (after having been above that level) based on the NASDAQ 100 60-day SBV(20) chart.

The fact that SBV oscillator readings have started to decline would tend to favor a coming down-move; today’s slide may have marked the beginning of a new corrective down-move.

10/10/2007 The SBV oscillator declined below plus 20% (after having been above that level) based on the S&P 500 and DJI 60-day SBV(20) chart. The NASDAQ 100 SBV dropped to plus 23% only. That reveals the possibility of coming reversal.
10/11/2007Buy PutsWe now see greater chances for a correction based on the fact that SBV oscillator readings started to drop again on the 60-day SBV(20) chart. Heightening the risk for a downside correction is also the large accumulation of selling volume that has built up over the past month on the same chart.

SBV oscillator declined below plus 20% (after having been above that level) based on the 15-day SBV(16) chart. This reveals that there is a chance of a short-term move down.

Below we list in detail the actual trades made, along with the netted returns achieved.

In this example, we have based our  QQQQ options trade on the NASDAQ 100 volume indicators (PVO, SBV Oscillator). Using the principles outlined above, you may wish to trade options on the SPY, ^SPX, DIAMONDS (DIA). It is also conceivable that an analysis similar to the one shown below could be used to trade options based on the NASDAQ 100, Russell 2000, and other indexes.
